Job definition

As a hands-on and successful Key Accountmanager you are responsible for managing a group of customers (key accounts) throughout Germany. You are aware of the developments in the solar market and the needs and wishes of our partners (installers and distributors). Building a good relationship with our customers and talk to them about long-term partnerships is an important task of your job. You are keen to open the East German market even more by facilitating customers in their needs. You actively promote Esdec products and services to our key customers to achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves in Germany. It is a challenging position for 40 hours a week (fulltime) and you will be working from your home office.

You are expected to provide product information to our key customers. This means your days are filled with visiting them and often we can find you on the roof together with our customer giving them excellent support. Your customer feedback is shared with our Product Management department to stay as close to the market as we can.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • You are responsible for proactively visiting and connecting with our customers;
  • You can build a strong and exclusive relationship with our customers;
  • You can set up a strong network where Esdec is “top of mind”;
  • You are the main point of contact for all customer matters, and you will anticipate our customer needs;
  • You are ensuring that deadlines are met for your customer, and you will help them to be successful;
  • You generate sales at the customer through up-and cross-selling and develop new relationships from the Key accounts;
  • You continuously update customers on product changes and modifications, services and pricing;
  • You assure the company’s best-in-class service level and shortest response time through an efficient communication between the customer and the company.


As a Key Accountmanager you will be a part of the Esdec Sales Team Europe, which is an enthusiastic and energetic team who work closely together, even a lot of your colleagues are based in different countries. Approximately every 3 months you will be joining a meeting in Deventer to stay connected to your colleagues in the Netherlands. This is the time where you’ll catch up with colleagues and you’ll receive a lot of updates from various departments as well as product trainings. You will report to the Country manager Germany.

Job qualifications

  • Bachelor level (Commercial/Economics) is required;
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position;
  • You have a proven track record of commercial results;
  • You speak and write German at a native level and English at a professional level, and you are an easy and effective communicator;
  • You have experience in an international logistics and/or production environment, experience in the solar industry is a plus;
  • You have a strong customer focus;
  • Intensive travelling is required, and you have a driver’s license.

  • You have a good knowledge and experience in the technical industry, in the solar industry is a plus;
  • You can explain our products and the specific unique selling points to our customers;
  • You are attentive to details and analytic;
  • You are a team player who plays an active part in creating a positive energy and atmosphere;
  • You are able to translate customer needs to the head quarters;
  • You are prepared to come to our head quarter in Deventer at least once every 3 months.
