This position entails working 32-40 hours per week and is located at our office in Deventer. This office hosts the largest group of colleagues from Information Services and Information Technology (Operations & Security), fostering close collaboration.
Tasks & Responsibilities
As the Global Data Manager, you will be entrusted with a wide array of critical responsibilities aimed at ensuring the efficient and strategic management of our data assets. These responsibilities include:
- Data Management and Growth: Overseeing and expanding our data platform to ensure it aligns with and bolsters the company’s strategic objectives.
- Data Governance and Security: Establishing and enforcing robust policies for data governance and role-based security measures to safeguard our data assets.
- Compliance and Regulatory Understanding: Ensuring strict adherence to relevant data protection laws such as GDPR and HIPAA to mitigate regulatory risks.
- Project Management: Leading major data utilization projects from inception to completion, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with our business objectives.
- Team Leadership: Building and managing a high-performing global data team consisting of 2 Data Engineers, a Data Architect, and a BI Analyst, with future plans to incorporate a Data Scientist. You will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture.
- Technical Oversight, Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Ensuring our data platform leverages the latest technological advancements and adheres to best practices to maintain its competitiveness and security posture.
- Environment Management: Taking charge of the health and performance of our data environments, ensuring they meet the latest technology standards and remain optimized for efficiency.
- Technical Advice: Providing expert guidance and direction to both the data team and the broader IT department to facilitate knowledge sharing and enhance overall data practices.
- Company Policies: Ensuring that all data-related activities and projects strictly adhere to organizational IT policies and data security standards, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance.
In this pivotal role, your contributions will be instrumental in shaping the future of our data capabilities and driving business success. You will report directly to the Global Director of Information Services.
Job qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field;
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an international environment;
- Excellent knowledge of data management tools and techniques;
- Experience with data governance and compliance with regulations such as GDPR;
- Leadership qualities and experience in managing a team;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Willingness to travel internationally if required.

You are familiar with the latest technologies and best practices in data management and can effectively apply them to manage and expand our data platform. Specific experience with Microsoft Fabric technology is a significant advantage.
- You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You can explain complex technical information in a understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders. Additionally, you are able to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and individuals within the company, building strong relationships and promoting open communication.
