About the Role
We're seeking a licensed attorney who wants to build a long-term career in-house and develop a broad set of legal, business, and operational skills. Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, U.S., this role combines commercial contracting, legal operations, compliance support, and cross-functional business partnership. The successful candidate will review and negotiate routine commercial agreements, coordinate legal matters, maintain critical legal processes, and support the day-to-day operations of a lean legal department. This role is ideal for an attorney who is highly organized, detail-oriented, technologically proficient, and eager to learn.
What You'll Do
Contract Review & Management
- Perform first-level review of commercial agreements, including NDAs, customer agreements, supplier agreements, purchase orders, and service contracts.
- Identify non-standard terms and escalate higher-risk issues when appropriate.
- Draft, revise, and maintain standard contract templates.
- Apply practical legal and business judgment to identify risk, propose solutions, and facilitate timely contract execution.
- Coordinate contract approvals and execution, including proactive follow-up to obtain signatures and required documentation.
Contract Lifecycle & Compliance
- Track contract milestones, key obligations, renewal dates, notice periods, and other contractual deadlines, and communicate requirements to relevant business teams.
- Prepare renewal notices, termination letters, reservation of rights letters, and other routine legal correspondence.
- Help develop processes that reduce risk and improve compliance.
Legal Operations & Matter Coordination
- Maintain legal trackers, reporting tools, and matter-management systems.
- Coordinate document collection, litigation support activities, and interactions with outside counsel as needed.
- Drive matters to completion through proactive follow-up with internal and external stakeholders.
Business Partnership
- Build trusted relationships across the organization.
- Provide practical, business-oriented guidance on routine legal and contractual matters.
- Balance responsiveness and customer service with sound judgment and appropriate risk management.
What You'll Bring
Required
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission and good standing to practice law in Massachusetts (or ability to register as in-house counsel).
- 2-5 years of legal experience, ideally involving commercial contracting, corporate law, litigation support, or in-house legal work.
- Experience reviewing, drafting, and administering commercial agreements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Strong project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software, systems, and technology tools.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and escalate issues appropriately.
Preferred
- Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems.
- Experience supporting in-house legal teams.
- Familiarity with litigation support and outside counsel management.
- Experience in manufacturing, construction, solar, renewable energy, or other industrial sectors.
Who You Are
- Highly detail-oriented
- Comfortable with the operational and administrative aspects of legal work
- Proactive, dependable, and accountable
- Effective with demanding stakeholders and diverse personalities
- Receptive to feedback and eager to learn
- Technology-forward and quick to adopt new tools
Why This Role Matters

You'll help ensure contracts get reviewed, signed, tracked, renewed, and closed out properly. Much of the value created in this role comes from disciplined execution, organization, follow-through, and operational excellence – not just legal analysis. You'll improve processes, reduce risk, support strategic initiatives, and become a trusted resource across the organization.
Where You'll Be Located
This is a hybrid position (2-3 days/week in the office, or more when business needs dictate) and will be based in our North Andover, MA office.
What We’ll Offer
We offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, education and location.
