What You'll Do

As the Test Engineering Technician at Enstall, you will be supporting the Product Development & Innovation Team and working collaboratively within the Testing and Certification Team. Some of your core responsibilities will include lab management and product testing to support the qualification of new products to assess long-term performance in harsh outdoor environments, as well as to comply with various industry standards.

• Manage lab organization, maintenance, cleanliness, and safety
• Run mechanical, electrical, and environmental tests and write concise test reports
• Use and maintain testing equipment including environmental chambers, tensile testers, load cells, power supplies, and other measuring/data acquisition/testing equipment
• Fabricate and assemble custom-designed test equipment and fixtures
• Support product testing, certification and module compatibility testing efforts
• Occasional field work, to include installation and testing of PV modules, arrays, and electrical systems

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in a lab or shop environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a dynamic team environment to think creatively and take on traditional problems in new and better ways
• Excellent project management aptitude
• Construction and fabrication experience
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Fluent with Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel as much as 25% of your time
• Product Testing experience in solar or related industries a plus
• Familiarity with roofing systems design, waterproofing and reliability testing a plus
• Expertise in solar electrical grounding/bonding a plus
• In depth knowledge of residential and commercial solar racking solutions a plus
• Knowledge in test equipment programming, automation, and data acquisition a plus

Where You'll Be Located

This position will be based in Hayward, CA.

What We’ll Offer

We offer competitive compensation determined by each individual's relevant experience, skills, education and location. We anticipate the base salary for this position to be between $65,000 and $75,000 annually, if located in the San Francisco Bay Area market. In addition to base salary, Enstall employees are eligible for either an annual bonus or commission, depending on their position. If your desired salary falls outside of these rates, we hope you'll still apply as there may be other positions that better align.
